Metrosexual

The word for today is METROSEXUAL. It refers to any man who is not necessarily a homosexual but is very vain and conscientious of his appearance and is particular about fashion. According to Wikipedia, the term "metrosexual" is a neulogism, meaning it is a fairly new concept and is slowly becoming a household word.

To further illustrate, a metrosexual will not only shave regularly but he will also exfoliate and apply moisturizer. He will not be contented to get his trim from a barber shop but will instead consult with a stylist. He probably owns more than 30 pairs of black shoes of different styles just like any typical woman and he will carefully match it to his outfit of the day. He may also have a couple of belts and wristwatches to complete his getup.

A metrosexual is distinguished from a homosexual because he is certain of his masculinity except that he is very keen about his personal hygiene and is attuned to the latest in men's fashion. It is possible for him to have a tendency to rush to the next sale of Calvin Klein and emerge clutching 3 bags worth of shopping finds.

David Beckham is one of the famous metrosexuals. He may play it rough in the football field. But outside, he regularly gets a manicure and pedicure to keep his nails clean. He would get highlights for his hair and make sure the stylist does it perfectly. And even if the public peers into his regimen, he doesn't care at all.

Justine Timberlake is another example who is very particular on grooming his hair. He is also not wont on showing his emotions or verbally expressing them.

Ben Affleck is also a metrosexual, and has no problems endorsing the men's grooming products of L'oreal. He owns a big wardrobe filled with sweatshirts and pants, and he enjoys mix and matching his clothing items. He is considered one of the best-dressed men in Hollywood.
