It's Federer's Time!

Rafael Nadal lost his hold early on in this year's French Open. It was disheartening to see him walk off the court after RobinSoderling beat him in four tight sets in the third round of eliminations. I have been looking forward to this grand slam since the start of the year, wishing that Nadal will surpass Bjorn Borg's record of four consecutive wins. But Soderling had another thing going on in his mind. Whatever it was, he surely caused one of the greatest upsets that he will forever remember in his tennis career.

With Nadal gone (along with the other top bets like Novac Djokovic, Andy Roddick and Jo-wilfried Tsonga), Roger Federer's chances of finally clinching a Roland Garros trophy is not far behind. I have always admired his composure in court. He's not one to crack under pressure. He came from two sets down in his fourth round game against Haas and then took the last three sets to win. This is precisely what will lead him to the finals. And I really hope he does. Because next to Nadal, I want no one else to win this year but Federer. The Roland Garros Cup will fill in the hole in his long string of grand slam titles. It is the only one he has not won yet.

He may not be hailed as the King of Clay, but he can sure prove to everyone that he is one of the greatest legends in tennis history, and that he can conquer any ground. Is clay his next turf? I surely hope so. I think it's Federer's time this year! *cross fingers*
